Share Classes

An investment manager may offer more than one class of a single mutual fund’s shares to investors. The different classes provide a similar interest in the mutual fund but differ in the fees and expenses charged to the investor.

Historically, there have been two categories of mutual fund share classes; defined contribution plans almost exclusively use ‘no load’ funds.
