About Multnomah Group

Empowering Retirement Success Through Independence, Experience, and Trust

Founded in 2003, Multnomah Group was created to transform the retirement plan consulting experience for employers. Our founding principals saw a need for truly independent advice—free from the conflicts of interest that often arise when service providers prioritize their own interests over those of their clients. Today, we remain 100% employee-owned, with no outside investors, parent companies, or affiliate relationships. This structure is the cornerstone of our commitment to acting solely in your best interest as a fiduciary partner.

What We Do

We are a  comprehensive retirement plan consulting for institutional clients, guiding plan sponsors through every aspect of plan governance, investment oversight, provider management, and participant engagement.

Our services include:

  • Fiduciary Governance: Building strong management procedures, developing and reviewing governance documents, and delivering ongoing fiduciary training and education.
  • Plan Operations: Providing administrative oversight, strategic goal setting, plan design consulting, and employee communication strategies to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
  • Investment Advisory: Designing and monitoring investment menus using rigorous quantitative and qualitative research, conducting quarterly reviews, and providing actionable performance reporting.
  • Provider Oversight: Benchmarking fees, conducting vendor searches/RFPs, and continually reviewing service providers to ensure optimal value and alignment with your plan’s goals.
  • Participant Education: Delivering group education, webinars, and one-on-one advice through our in-house financial planners to empower employees on their retirement journey.

Our Philosophy & Differentiators

  • Independence: As a fiduciary Registered Investment Adviser, we accept no third-party compensation, revenue sharing, or incentives. Our advice is always objective, transparent, and aligned with your best interests.
  • Experience: Our multidisciplinary team brings decades of experience, deep industry knowledge, and a collaborative approach to every client relationship.
  • Transparency: We provide clear, fully disclosed fees and maintain robust compliance and conflict-of-interest policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Our “Plan Forward” strategy ensures your plan evolves each year, keeping employees well-positioned for retirement.

Our Commitment to Security & Trust

21972-312_SOC_NonCPAIn 2025, Multnomah Group voluntarily completed the AICPA SOC 1 Type I examination. This examination was undertaken to document that our internal controls for financial reporting are suitably designed to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. This milestone demonstrates our commitment to transparency, trust, and helping clients meet their own audit and compliance obligations with confidence. We have included a copy of our competed examination.

Q: How do you help with compliance and regulatory updates?

A: Multnomah Group provides comprehensive compliance resources to support plan sponsors and investment committees in meeting their fiduciary and regulatory obligations. • Ongoing Education: Providing committee training, education, and ongoing support, including annual sessions, quarterly meeting modules, and monthly webinars on fiduciary responsibilities, best practices, and current regulatory requirements.
